A Modern Romeo and Juliet Wedding Shoot

Bride and groom pretending to eat wedding cake

We adore the pictures of this whimsical modern day Romeo and Juliet wedding shoot. The team behind the styling created such a fun atmosphere and we love everything about this shoot, from the abundance of cake to the bride’s beautiful flower crown, all captured perfectly by Paola De Paola Photography…

“Last October I met Lauren from French Made, at the Miss Vintage Wedding Affair. We clicked immediately and talked about a possible future collaboration, which is where the idea for this shoot probably came from.

“We originally considered The Old Vinyl Factory in North London as the location for the shoot, but after complications we this was dropped. We then found Brixton East 1871, a former Victorian warehouse and an amazing find, with many of the original features of the building retained by Andrew Luckett.

“Andy’s big smile greeted me as I arrived at the venue on the day of the shoot. I lost count of how many suppliers were involved – cakes, flowers, dresses, suits and of course, our models, a real couple, Scott and Adelina.

“We wanted to create a modern Romeo and Juliet story full of colour and excitement, but with a modern, fresh approach. The palette was romantic pink and pastel colours, interspersed with sequins and glitter, giving an art deco vibe. Geometric shapes were also added in the styling of the table, and we gave the couple many fun props to play with to enliven the atmosphere.
