This week we’re featuring the final of three shoots which took place at Bawdon Lodge Farm. Following the stunning Vintage Country Styled Wedding Shoot and Relaxed, Rustic Country Tea Wedding Shoots, today’s pictures come from the beautiful ‘Country Elegance’ themed shoot. Val from Benessamy Weddings and Events told us a little bit about the inspiration behind the shoot…

“The idea behind this shoot was to bring both glamour and elegance to the country. The pretty blossom tree provides a beautiful focal point, dressed with pearls and crystals and sprinkled with love notes. The guest tables are dressed with soft lace and the bride’s bouquet is full of gorgeous white peonies.

“The blossom tree was coupled with the statement piece LOVE table – bringing both romance and a touch of whimsical!”

Following on from the Vintage Country Styled Wedding Shoot at Bawdon Lodge Farm we featured last week, today we have the stunning pictures from the second shoot which took place. The inspiration for the shoot, which was again planned and co-ordinated by Val of Benessamy Weddings and Events, was a relaxed, rustic country tea…

“The inspiration for this theme was the natural rustic charm of afternoon tea on an English country farm. Everything from the bleached pine sweetheart table, informally dressed with burlap runners, gorgeous mismatched china and informal linen, to the ‘vintage meets rustic’ inspired Polka Dots and Pinstripes stationery, and beautiful rustic bouquets of hydrangeas, roses and Gypsophila. Afternoon tea would not be complete of course without delicious scones and cakes for all to enjoy!

“The hay store ‘theatre’ provided the perfect opportunity for the couple to relax and enjoy a moment of reflection, followed by a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade from the outdoor drinks station.”

Today we have pictures from the first of three beautiful styled shoots which took place at Bawdon Lodge Farm to share with you. Photographed by Lumiere Photography, the shoots were planned to showcase the versatility of the farm in preparation for when it launches as a wedding venue later this year. Benessamy Weddings and Events planned and co-ordinated the shoots…

“Bawdon Lodge Farm is a family owned country farm in Nanpantan, Leicestershire, and is due to launch as a country wedding venue later this year, available for weddings in 2014. At Benessamy Weddings and Events we are pleased to be working with Richard and Lynn Bailey to assist them in the management of weddings at Bawdon Lodge Farm.

“Richard and Lynn were keen to work with creative wedding suppliers from the local area, who they would be happy to recommend to their wedding and events clients when the venue opens next year. The idea behind the styled wedding shoot was to showcase the versatility of Bawdon Lodge Farm, both as a country farm wedding venue and as a marquee wedding venue. Hence, we planned and co-ordinated 3 styled shoots.

“The inspiration for the first shoot was a vintage country wedding…”

Interview with: Alix Marina-Chouhan

Company Name: Lumiere Photography

Location / Coverage: UK, Europe, further..

How did the business get started and who works at Lumiere Photography?

I had my first book published in 1996 but never thought of being a photographer. One friend asked me to take photos at his wedding and he liked mine more than the professional ones, so that made me think I could do it.

I am the only person at Lumiere and I have thought about having other photographers with me in the future, but not now. I do refer work to other photographers if I am booked though. There are many photographers whose work I love.

Had you always wanted to be a photographer?

I always wanted to take photographs. As a kid I remember framing with my fingers to focus on the detail I imagined people didn’t see, to bring it to attention, to find beauty in the ordinary.

My first boyfriend wanted to be a photographer, and was very good too, but was told it wasn’t a serious job, so I never considered it. I learned a lot from him though and bought my first proper camera when we split up.

Can you remember how old you were when you took your first picture? What was it of?

I was given a really bad point and shoot at 7 and I took a few photos before I was so annoyed with it taking wide angle photos I couldn’t crop or manipulate that I don’t think I even developed the last roll.
