Rustic Countryside Wedding Styling at Lyth Valley Country Inn

If you’re longing for a wedding with a rustic countryside vibe, then today’s shoot at Lyth Valley Country Inn will give you loads of ideas for your wedding styling.

There is an eclectic mix of rustic styling ideas, from feathers and skulls to moss covered oak slices and bird nests, and also some styling elements which give a wonderful modern twist on the rustic nature of this concept. Giant grass covered LOVE letters create a modern backdrop whilst embracing the natural vibe. The florals are amazing too, with wildflowers and eucalyptus foliage mixed with bright blue flowers again giving a contemporary edge.

I adore the eclectic mix of old and new that creates real interest and intrigue. Beautifully rustic backdrops with vintage bikes, large light-up wooden letters, blankets, old books, tea cups and rustic furniture are brought to life in the surroundings of the countryside and Lyth Valley Country Inn.

Varying bridal styles each complement the rustic concept, from traditional chic with an elegant bridal look to rock chick with leather biker jacket and tattoos. These are perfect examples to show that little tweaks can make different styling concepts your own.

Carolyn of AMB-Vision joined forces with make-up artist Polly Winder to bring this rustic countryside wedding styling to life…

Countryside Chic

“Friends since birth and Lake District born and bred, Carolyn and I have both found ourselves working in the wedding industry but in completely different areas. So, we decided to work together to create a ‘Countryside Chic’ shoot. With spring just around the corner we wanted to create a shoot encapsulating the rustic beauty of the venue as well as its stunning surroundings.”

“Surrounded by Lake District countryside, Lyth Valley Country Inn has wonderful outdoor space, and the rustic countryside theme of the venue gave us the inspiration for varied wedding looks, from boho to a more classic bridal wear style.

“Each supplier contributed their own influence in the arrangement of the shoot and the results were exactly what we wanted.”

A Rustic Styled Wedding Shoot in the Slovenian Countryside

Couple about to kiss in front of rustic door in Slovenian countryside

Ok ladies and gents, we have pretty overload for you all this morning with the pictures of this beautiful rustic countryside inspiration shoot.

Set in Slovenia, the team behind the shoot created amazing inspiration based on a vintage, rustic theme, in and around an old family home. We love the details, from the quaint wedding stationery and fabulous florals to the beautiful wedding dress and cool groomswear.

If you are looking for rustic or vintage wedding inspiration then you are going to adore these ideas.

Thanks to Katja and Simon Photography for sharing these really cool pictures…

“This styled shoot with a rustic theme was inspired after opening the doors of an old house that belongs to our family. Underneath the dust we found so many old treasures that were just too lovely to throw away. The house was full of vintage decor, pocket watches, old photos and paintings. It was exciting to see all those items in the daylight again, and that is when the idea about a styled photo shoot was born.

“We contacted some of our friends and favourite vendors who helped us create this memorable rustic and vintage themed wedding setting. We waited until spring so we could capture it all under the blooming cherry trees and on the fresh green grass outside the house.”

A Country Vintage Themed Wedding in Dorset

Bride and groom looking at view of Dorset countryside at sunset

We love a wedding where the bride and groom make the most of the celebrations and go to town on the food, bar and styling details, and this is just what Lauren and Matthew did for their special day, as you’ll see in these beautiful pictures by Lawes Photography.

The styling is so pretty, with beautiful tablescapes, country crates for the seating plan, and wait until you see the bride’s gorgeous bouquet with berries; it’s all just so perfect for a country wedding… and what country wedding would be complete without steam engines and vintage machinery, hey?

“When we started planning our wedding both Matt and I discussed what we wanted from the day and the most important aspects we wanted to focus on. With me being from New Zealand and Matt being from England it was important that both countries were represented and aspects of both came through.

“We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves, feel welcome and experience some Kiwi hospitality. We agreed it was important to get the food, bar and band right – from my experience people will remember these three aspects most from a wedding. We also had parts that were important to each of us. From my point of view I wanted to make sure we paid close attention to detail, even if I was the only one who noticed it. Matt wanted to make sure we had some stream engines and vintage machinery there, so we worked on how we were going to make it all come together.

“Pinterest was my friend during the planning process. I would have an idea about something I wanted and then just refine it by using Pinterest, or I’d see something on there that I thought would work well and then recreated it in our style.

“I also worked for years in hospitality and luxury hotels, so I had organised many weddings and events. This gave me a big advantage as I knew what I didn’t want, and what worked well. We picked the country vintage theme, which was a natural choice for us, and just went from there.

A Country Wedding at The Garden Barn

Bride and groom on bench

Wow, wow, wow! There are pretty weddings, and then there are really pretty weddings. We are so excited to be featuring the incredible pictures that Tatum Reid captured of Eleanor and Gareth’s fabulous wedding, which took place at All Saints Church and The Garden Barn in Little Bradley. The details of this wedding are truly beautiful, from the pretty vintage china (from Eleanor’s mum’s business) that adorned the tables, to the show-stopping wedding cake made by Eleanor’s auntie (she has some good-to-know people, doesn’t she!), this is just an amazing wedding…

“The best way that we can describe our day was that it was a real family country wedding, and we wouldn’t change a single thing if we did it again! I (Eleanor) had always wanted to get married in the small hamlet that I grew up in (and where my parents still live). The church there is so tiny but it made the service really intimate; we squished 85 of our friends and family in and in order to do that we had them sitting in the choir stalls in front of us as well as in extra chairs at the back! Luckily Gareth loved the church and barn too!

“We didn’t want a set theme or colour scheme and really the barn is such a beautiful place that it didn’t need much décor. It was the same with the church, where my mum created gorgeous country arrangements and pretty pew ends; it was absolutely perfect. She also did all our venue flowers which were a mix of pinks and greens.

“My mum owns a vintage china hire business so we used that to add extra decoration to the tables (and serve the coffee / tea in after the meal). We also used lots of old suitcases and pretty tablecloths, and my top table centrepiece was a family heirloom. We didn’t want things to match too much and tried to make things quite unique – for example the shoes the bridesmaids wore.

“We were very relaxed about the whole day, and we’d always said that the most important thing for us was that at the end of the day we were married and that we wanted our friends and family to have fun and be a part of our special day – and that’s exactly what happened!

“One of our favourite memories of the evening was taking a moment on the dance floor to look back out at everyone really enjoying themselves and dancing the night away.”

Traditional Confetti Shot

Confetti Shot

Celebrate the first moments of being a newly married couple by having your guests shower you with delicate petals, giving you a wow factor confetti photo. Not only will you love it, your church or venue will too as there is no clearing up as petals are just like blossom falling from a tree.

Reception Decoration

Candle in Bowl with Confetti

Depending on the type of venue you choose, you will want to decorate to suit your wedding theme. Add some delicate lighting to windowsills and side tables by placing a candle in a glass vase or fish bowl, and surround with petals in your chosen colour scheme.

Wedding Table Decorations

Consider what you are having for your main table decorations. From big floral displays and candles to lights in a vase, or even some simple handpicked flowers in a rustic jug, add some colour and texture to your tables by scattering some rose petals on crisp, white tablecloths for a romantic addition to your décor.
