Boho Beach Elopement Styling in Sardinia

When thinking of destinations for an elopement or intimate wedding abroad I imagine there are few places more beautiful than Sardinia. This Italian island with picturesque mountain views and rocky coasts has stunning beaches regarded as some of the finest in the world. And it’s on one of these beaches, La Pelosa in Stintino, that this beautiful boho elopement shoot took place.

As you’d expect with a beach elopement the details are simple, with the stunning flowers one of the few styling elements. The table blooms’ orange hues add colour to an otherwise very neutral, minimalist setup, with unfussy place settings enhancing the elegance of the look while allowing the flowers to take centre stage.

Flowers transform the naked cake too, elevating the simple design to a thing of breathtaking beauty. The wild look of flowers and foliage cascading from top to bottom really adds to the boho vibe, and is perfect for the beach setting.

For the bridal styling, the free-spirited bride’s ruffled dress and cape give her a relaxed, carefree style. They look wonderful blowing in the sea breeze as she walks barefoot across the sand with her groom.

I adore the simplicity of this shoot. Our thanks go to Valeria Mameli for sharing these beautiful pictures…

Beautiful and Unique

“This beach elopement shoot took place in my homeland of Sardinia, in one of the most beautiful and unique places – The Pelosa Beach in Stintino.

“It is a true Sardinian oasis, with turquoise waters and white sands. An ancient sixteenth-century watchtower on La Pelosa beach, the Torre della Pelosa, was part of Sardinia’s marine defence system.

“The colours used in the shoot are warm, and include copper, orange and cream. We used strong materials such as the wedding dress, a unique piece by Elisabetta Delogu, a talented Sardinian stylist. All the work on this shoot brings a spirit of warmth, freedom, personality, origin and land.”

Romantic ‘Rouille’ Beach Wedding Styling

Rouille may not be a word you’ve come across before so, if not, let me enlighten you. It means ‘rust’ in French, and it sounds so much nicer in French than English, don’t you think? This rouille wedding shoot uses a colour palette including shades of orange, brown and beige to create such romantic styling.

Creative stylist and photographer Lizelle Goussard took inspiration from a famous quote as the foundation for this concept…

“My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Lizelle explains, “The reason why I paired the rust colour with an ocean location is that things tend to rust when close to the ocean, and old items washed up onto the beach are usually full of rust.

As you’ll see, this styling would be perfect for an intimate beach wedding or elopement, but you could also recreate it on a greater scale for a larger affair.

Rustic Styling

The busy, rustic table styling using natural elements complements the scenery perfectly. Unstructured florals, candles, drift wood and old glass bottles sit in the centre of linen deliberately draped in an almost untidy manner, creating a rippled effect akin to waves breaking onto the shore. To complete the look, the place settings include rust coloured napkins, wooden table mats, and a sea shell to honour the location.

The bridal styling is just as beautiful, with two gowns specifically chosen to work with the colour scheme. The first includes stunning leaf and floral embellishments and a deep illusion neckline, and the second has hues of brown. The bride’s extra long veil gives a dramatic effect, and her fabulous free-form floral bouquet of peach, blush and white flowers loosely tied with rust-coloured ribbon complements both looks perfectly.

From the textured card used for the wedding stationery, to the rough-iced wedding cake with pops of rust detail, each element has been so carefully thought out. Our thanks go to Lizelle for sharing the beautiful pictures of this romantic rouille beach wedding styling…

Beach Wedding Inspiration with Blue and Gold Styling

Today I’m taking you to the beach. I’d like to help you escape this bitterly cold weather, and think of summer. I’m not talking about the beach of a tropical island though; oh no. We’re going to a beautiful beach at Daymer Bay in Cornwall, the perfect setting for this beach wedding inspiration shoot.

When I first saw these pictures I fell in love. Not only with Cornwall, one of my favourite places in the UK, but also the styling ideas the creative team worked so hard on. Blue and gold were the perfect colour choice for the styling, and the concept of creating a Mediterranean wedding right here in the UK.

The blue and gold colour palette looks great against the sea, sand and rocks. The styling has a rustic edge, especially the alluring tablescape. This is styled with fabulous patterned table runner, napkins, and plates, complemented with beautiful blue glassware, gold cutlery and candle holders and simple sprigs of flowers in small gold vases.

I adore the choice of flowers too, all white and blue. The air plants and succulents really bring the Mediterranean vibe out.

And what about the two sensational wedding cakes? The first is a two tier, blue and gold hand-painted square cake, and the other a four tier navy blue cake with delicately hand-painted flowers. They are both amazing.

The team used two brides to show different bridal styles; both are really beautiful. I can’t forget the groom’s outfit either – I really love his style, with his subtle patterned suit jacket and bow tie.

I hope these beautiful pictures by Michelle Cordner Photography really inspire your beach wedding ideas.

Wedding On the UK Coast

“This workshop, run by Liberty Pearl Photography and styled by Elle from inspire hire, was set at the St Moritz hotel, which is a stroll from the stunning Daymer Bay beach in Cornwall.

“The idea was to create inspiration for a Mediterranean/ocean themed shoot. With blue and gold complementing the sands and sea, Elle used stunning accessories to re-create the feeling of a Mediterranean wedding, on the UK coast!

“The couple (who are a real life couple and actually got engaged the night before the workshop) were great to capture. The genuine love and laughter between them made photographing them great fun.

“With so many beautiful details, from the ocean themed stationery, to the gorgeous aqua-cake, I think this styling will inspire any beach-bound brides!” – Michelle, Michelle Cordner Photography

Bride holding out shawl on beach on Cumbrian Coastline in Lake District for Wild Spirit wedding shoot

Wild Spirit – Natural Wedding Inspiration in the Lake District

We are so fortunate in the UK to have some of the most incredible landscapes in the entire world. If you are looking for a UK wedding destination with a killer backdrop, then the Lake District is just perfect. This ‘Wild Spirit’ wedding inspiration shoot shows just what a dramatic backdrop the Lake District could provide for your wedding or elopement.

The natural beauty of the surroundings is the perfect setting for wild and rustic styling. The concept is simple yet elegant, and so beautiful. Much of the styling is designed around the beautiful calligraphy wedding stationery created by By Moon and Tide. This stationery has exquisite calligraphy on rustic paper and, in keeping with the surroundings, there is even a rustic picture of a mountain to coordinate for the second part of the shoot.

For the beach shoot, the elegantly styled tablescape, with a wonderful wild foliage covering, beautiful silver candelabra, cut crystal glasses, ribbon-tied silver cutlery, also features a calligraphy written menu. The whole styling is natural and rustic, yet elegant.

I adore the bride’s styles. A cool, boho style trouser two-piece with crop top works impeccably with the first beach setting. I love her relaxed curled updo with boho braid, finished with a pretty hair vine, and a pretty ribbon-tied bouquet with thistles complements her look.

The second style is dark and moody, perfect for the mountain setting. Against the rocky backdrop, the bride wore a strapless navy lace wedding dress, with blush under-slip. She wore her hair down and messy with a jewelled hair comb, and the bridal bouquet is oversized, wild and rustic.

This shoot has so many beautiful elements that each help to create this amazing wedding styling concept. If you are looking for rustic wedding ideas then I hope you get loads of inspiration from these fabulous pictures by Oobaloos Photography.

Wilderness, Tranquillity and Drama

“The Lake District is an incredible setting for an intimate wedding or elopement. Our Wild Spirit shoot centred around organic calligraphy elements, with bespoke stationery suites designed around the landscapes of the English Lakes and Cumbrian coastline. The look combined wilderness, tranquillity and drama.

“Whether you’re marrying in a traditional venue, barn or marquee, or outdoors near the sea or surrounded by countryside, let the environment set the scene for your day.

“Sheryl Fish of Oobaloos Photography travelled to the Lake District for the shoot. Sheryl’s images have a uniquely artistic feel to them, and her photography style couldn’t have been more perfect. She looks for emotion, laughter, love, and the subtle, natural beauty in every image, and captures the spirit of a place and moment so beautifully.”

A Touch of Fun

“I loved planning the styling for this shoot at the picturesque, multi-award winning Carbis Bay Hotel and Spa. Situated in its own private estate and gardens overlooking the white sands of Carbis Bay Beach, the style and location of the venue lent itself to a contemporary styled shoot, with a touch of fun.
