Today I’m delighted to share the brand new Grace Loves Lace La Bamba 2019/2020 bridal collection. The highly anticipated collection contains unique wedding dress designs created to allow maximum movement for ‘dancing brides’.
La Bamba, inspired by the famous song and dance, includes 13 new wedding dresses alongside an exclusive range of accessories. Coined its most innovative and creative collection to date, the emphasis is on comfortable fits and playful silhouettes.
“As the original disruptors, we feel it’s our duty to turn it up a notch – giving women the excitement and authenticity they deserve”, explains founder and Creative Director Megan Ziems.
“La Bamba is truly ‘luxury you can dance in’ – high impact gowns that don’t sacrifice wearability. Our vision has been to create gowns that are dramatic and effortless. Fabrics and shapes that have visual impact whilst remaining lightweight and easy to wear, rather than traditional, restrictive dresses that don’t allow women to move freely.”
The Grace Loves Lace La Bamba collection is the brand’s first with new Head of Design, Rosie Keating. Keating worked alongside Ziems in developing exciting fabric combinations, including metallic elements, stretch lace and embellishments.
“We wanted to create bling without the bling; gowns that shine and shimmer on the skin without heavy adornment and embellishment. We focused on the scale and placement of fabric to contour the body, and using stretch lace to flatter and highlight every curve and increase wearability”, said Ziems.
Below I’ve picked three of my favourite designs from this truly stunning collection…
Capri is made from an exclusive lace with rose gold metallic thread designed to glisten and shimmer on the skin. A pearl silk drawstring allows you to lower the back as much as you like, and I just love the scallop eyelash trim along the bodice, sleeves and skirt tiers.
