Oh I do love a tea-length 1950s style wedding dress, and I’m blown away by the fabulous dresses in the Rita Mae 2018 bridal collection. The latest collection is full of flirty numbers, plus lace, polka dots, petticoats and even a blue wedding dress!
A beautiful collection of short wedding dresses from renowned design house Alan Hannah, the Rita Mae 2018 collection is pretty, feminine and quirky. Designer Marguerite has used a variety of fabrics and colours, and each dress is available in three lengths – short, tea-length and long.
The 2018 collection breaks away from tradition. I adore the cheeky polka dot skirts with full petticoats teamed with classic 50’s strapless bodices. It’s also lovely to see another bridal collection with a burst of colour. The blues and pinks give a striking vibrancy and instant hanger appeal to the dresses. Floral embellishments create a spring filled vivacity and freshness to the new hi low styles, and there is a sassy confidence in the fitted dresses, which have beautiful figure hugging lace to the low hip and then bustling out into a full tulle skirts.
“I especially love Marseilles. Marseilles is a clean and classic shape with a bell shaped skirt that works especially well as a hi lo dress. This adds an element of fun and irreverence, which is what I try to achieve in Rita Mae.” – Marguerite Hannah, Designer
There really are some fabulous dresses in the Rita Mae 2018 collection. Just look at these three for starters…
This is a truly unique wedding dress. If you’re going for a 1950’s feel to your wedding, what better homage to the era than this spectacular red polka dot tulle dress? If you don’t fancy the bold red polka dots, Arizona is also available with white dots.
