Tweed is set to be a big trend for weddings in 2014 and we just love it! Tweed has a vintage, rustic, natural look to it which means it is perfectly suited to those of you who are planning this type of wedding, and if you’re having a winter wedding tweed will look amazing. It’s not just for the guys; how about wearing a fitted tweed jacket with your wedding dress.

We love these tweed wedding ideas.

Today’s inspiration is all about tartan. You don’t have to be Scottish to use tartan as part of your wedding styling. Used as bridal cover-ups, bunting, table runners and of course by way of a kilt if you dare, tartan is perfect for winter weddings, as the beautiful deep colours add a touch of warmth to a wedding.

Black lace is a little bit vintage and a little bit glamour, and we love it! If you are looking for a wedding theme that is elegant but also has a vintage twist, then lace might be what you are looking for. We have chosen black lace, which works so well with white, but you can also team this up with other bright colours to really create and impact. Of course, you can use other coloured lace; navy and red also work really well.

Here are some of our favourite black lace wedding ideas.

At The Wedding Community we LOVE chocolate, and often share chocolate related features. Today we are sharing another one!

Your wedding guests will love you forever if you indulge them in chocolate heaven. Having an amazing chocolate dessert table or hot chocolate station where guests can come and help themselves will undoubtedly score you some brownie points (oooh, now we are thinking about chocolate brownies!).

Be imaginative with your creations. We love the idea of using vintage picture frames on a table with raised plates in between. Another lovely idea is to have boards with different flavoured chocolates as table centrepieces for your guest to devour.

Get creative with your chocolate heaven.

If you are having an autumn wedding around 5th November, how about making it extra special with a bonfire party and fireworks to entertain your guests. We love the idea of serving lovely hot mulled cider, mulled wine or hot chocolate for your guests to enjoy as they huddle around the fire and watch the fireworks (remember, you will need to check with your wedding venue about having fireworks and fires). If a big bonfire isn’t possible, how about a fire pit? Sparklers are a cute and inexpensive way to get some fun shots, especially at the end of your wedding.

Have a sparkling bonfire night everyone.

Purple has been a popular colour choice for weddings this year, and we think it will be hot in 2014 too. Adding silver and purple together gives a really luxurious feel and looks great all year round, although especially for winter weddings. As there are so many shades of purple, you could change this theme from purple to lilac for a spring or summer wedding. We have also added hints of pink with the purple and silver to give added depth and vibrancy.

Here are some beautiful ideas for purple and silver wedding styling.

Red gingham may well remind you of your primary school summer dress; red gingham to us says ‘fun and whimsical’.

We love weddings where gingham has been used in the styling, and particularly red gingham, which at this time of year adds a warm feel to a wedding.

All fabric shops sell red gingham material, and it can be pretty cheap, so if you are going down the handmade wedding route, you could create a really stylish wedding. How about using gingham ribbon to tie your cutlery together, wrap jars in hessian and tie them with the ribbon, or even use the material as a table runner or the backdrop to your wedding seating plan… the options are endless.

Here are some ideas of how to use red gingham in your wedding styling.
