Green Apple Wedding Ideas – Moody Monday

Using fruit and in particular apples as your wedding theme has two great benefits – the first, apple green is a brilliant colour for weddings in all seasons, especially spring and summer, giving a vibrant and fresh feel. Secondly, using apples as decorations for your wedding is a lot cheaper than using flowers. Just having large vases filled with apples creates a great display; you could even have large displays of old fashioned apple crates piled with apples.

Using blue and white for your wedding colour scheme opens so many different possibilities. With so many shades of blue and different blue and white patterns and materials available, you can have great fun choosing what works for you. Navy blue creates a feeling of luxury and sophistication, pale or baby blue creates more of a soft feminine look, and French and duck egg blues work perfectly for a more relaxed wedding style.

Vintage Tin Wedding Decorations – Moody Monday

To complete your vintage style wedding, how about using beautiful vintage tins as decorations. These are great used as vases and planters to display flowers in and are cheaper than hiring or buying vases. A simple vintage style tin with a few flowers in will look great on any wedding table. You could use a few tins together to create more of an impact, or even use a vintage biscuit tin as a planter for your favourite herbs or flowers. These could then be used as thank you gifts after your wedding. You can find vintage style tins in charity shops, car boot sales, eBay and maybe even in your granny’s pantry!

We just love the idea of having pinwheels at a wedding to bring an element of retro but also fun at the same time! They are really easy to make (instructions below), and you can chose colours and patterns to compliment your wedding theme. Jam jars can make fabulous wedding decorations, and if you are on a budget it’s a great way of saving some pennies! Collect jam jars in different shapes and sizes and use them as vases for flowers on your wedding tables, hang them in trees with tea lights in or even place them around your reception room with pictures of the two of you in.
