L.A. Modern – Refreshing Citrus Wedding Styling Ideas

Is anyone else fed up of all this wind and rain? I’m SO looking forward to spring, the lighter evenings and (hopefully) some spring sunshine! Today I’m going to make you forget about the gloomy weather outside, as I’m sharing a whole lot of colourful citrus wedding styling ideas which will brighten your week.

Citrus elements are a great way of injecting a pop of colour into wedding styling. The luscious green of limes, bold oranges and vibrant yellow lemons work so well as a bright colour palette. Not only does the vibrancy look fabulous, but using these natural products is also a cost-effective way of styling your wedding.

This citrus wedding styling is simply stunning. For the ceremony styling, each chair has its own name place stationery, delicately pinned to a citrus fruit. Beautiful foliage, candles and scattered fruits line the aisle, which looks so pretty against the elegant white chairs.

If you’re looking for sweet treat inspiration, then check out the dessert table. There are super-cute unicorn and cactus macarons, yummy iced ring doughnuts and beautiful citrus and geode themed wedding cakes.

The main focal point of the shoot is the incredible wedding table. The plates, each with a lemon place name, sit on beautiful macramé table mats. A simple scattering of citrus fruits surround the pretty foliage and floral displays, which complement the colour of the citrus fruits perfectly. The style of the displays carries through to the bride’s magnificent bridal bouquet and groom’s buttonhole, which have an almost tropical vibe.

The styling team found some of the most beautiful wedding dresses to showcase in this shoot. There’s a traditional strapless dress, a beautiful short lace dress, and also one of the most amazing patterned wedding dresses I have seen in ages, covered in a green fern and foliage design. The bride also wears a pair of Kate Spade shoes to die for (I need these in my life!)

These citrus wedding styling ideas are so refreshing, and just what we need to clear away the winter blues! I hope you enjoy these fabulous ideas, captured by Stacy Able Photography.

Refreshing Change

“The idea of this styled shoot came to play once we had the title, L.A. Modern. Once we knew the theme, shoot coordinator Madeline and I excitedly bounced ideas back and fourth. Over the course of a few months we recruited a team of wedding professionals who could execute our ideas.

Bright and Colourful Tropical Wedding Styling

Well, summer hasn’t really materialised, has it? The odd day of warm summer sun has left me longing for hotter climes, so I hope these bright, colourful, tropical wedding styling ideas make you feel warm and sunny inside.

This summer-inspired wedding shoot has a really fun vibe. The styling team created the most fabulous tablescape using vibrant flowers, glassware and crockery. Bright pink, blue, yellow and green make the table look so inviting. I love the use of palm leaves throughout, and they look great suspended in the windows.

Of course, any tropical styling should include pineapples, right? Gold pineapples feature as part of the tablescape, and also on top of the fabulous wedding cake with hand-painted palm leaf detail. The bouquet and flowers bring everything in this shoot to life – the look is so vibrant.

Big thanks to photographer Shot by Angel for capturing these tropical, fun wedding ideas. Please can we have a summer now?

Tropical Flare

“We wanted to create a wedding scene with tropical flare, so we incorporated a unique line of jewellery, pops of colour and a wonderfully summer-inspired table setting.

“The venue was ideal. It featured a beautiful wooden deck with bright, white walls and a Koi pond – adding to that destination wedding feel.”

A Tropical Bird Neon Wedding Shoot

Bride wearing neon floral tribal-esque necklace

Today’s bridal shoot is so vibrant and full of colour and quirkiness; you are going to love it! The shoot, captured by Rebecca Douglas Photography, was inspired by a neon colour palette and the tropics. We adore the neon details, tropical bird elements, amazing feather eyelashes, tribal-esque necklace; in fact, we are just in awe of the whole thing.

If you fancy having a wedding that is full of fun, we hope you take lots of inspiration from this fantastic shoot…

The Concept and Styling

“I first had the idea for this shoot about 5 months ago. I woke from a tropical neon dream, literally, and rang Rebecca Douglas straight away. Our combined passions for neon and birds led me to set the style. I am a lover of the bright, the bold and the ballsy, and as the last 5 months have gone by I have been increasingly inspired by the tropical and tribal patterns, trends and colours that have come about in the fashion world.

“Initial styling thoughts included neon (obviously), tribal patterns, rainforest foliage, natural textures and, of course, tropical birds.

“Although we work primarily within the wedding industry, this shoot was always going to be more of a fashion-led one, with a stunning Native American model in a non-wedding dress made by herself, a floral tribal-esque necklace to replace the classic bridal bouquet and hot pink feathered eyelashes!

“The concept was then emphasised with the use of prop styling and dressing by myself, including neon beaded backdrops, cocktail umbrella letters, rainforest table settings and a giant bird cage sourced from the lovely Scotts of Margate.

“The guys all did such a fantastic job of interpreting my brief and went above and beyond anything I imagined.” – Jenny Sinclair, Bellaboo and Beau

The Model and the Dress

“Naturally wedding dresses are often overworked as they are a statement of a lifetime for some brides-to-be. What I wanted to do was highlight how the simplicity of style and silhouette can be just as effective, by implementing on-trend colour contrast accessories.” – Nova Clarke, Nova Clarke’s Workshop
