Burgundy and Pink Floral Wedding Styling

I just love these show-stopping burgundy and pink floral wedding styling ideas. Created by floral designer Lori’s Flowers and beautifully photographed by Elizabeth Burgi Photography, these ideas would work well for a wedding in any season, but the burgundy tones make them particularly suited to a winter wedding. Shades of burgundy always look wonderfully dramatic, but when mixed with pops of bright pink they really come alive.

The idea behind this styled shoot was to inspire brides looking for beautiful ideas for wedding florals for their bouquet, table and venue. Lori used roses as the main focal flower in the bouquet and table arrangements. In shades of rich, velvety burgundy and fabulous bright fuchsia pink they look divine. Paler shades of dahlia, stocks, scabiosa, ranunculus, and dark green foliage fill the arrangements.

Of course, you can’t help but notice the bride’s beautiful wedding dress too. This stunning off-the shoulder, long sleeved dress with lace bodice has a beautiful tulle train and is a real head-turner! I don’t often see brides wearing tiaras any more, but the one the bride is wearing is incredible. The entwined gold almost looks branch-like, and encrusted in black and white jewels this unique piece really stands out.

This whole shoot is oh so pretty. Our thanks go to Elizabeth Burgi for sharing these beautiful pictures…

“When Lori’s Flowers asked if I wanted to do a mini styled shoot of a table top and bride with bouquet I was totally on board. I love Lori’s fresh but classic style with flowers.

“Lori set the table with gorgeous burgundy and pink flowers that would be perfect for a fall or winter wedding. The model wore a custom gown by Niquie, and the flirty lace and bold jewel toned flowers fit together beautifully.”

Decadent Winter Wedding Styling in Tuscany

Any wedding in the romantic setting of Tuscany is going to be beautiful, but these decadent winter wedding styling ideas at a nineteenth century villa in Lucca are pure and unadulterated sophistication. Stylist ilbiancoeilrosa used a colour palette of rich burgundy and petrol blue, the perfect choice for the surroundings.

With the magnificent venue as the main visual attraction, the styling is minimal but oh so elegant. Flowers form much of the styling with the use of white anemone with striking black centres, rich burgundy roses and ranunculus, dark green foliage and even the unusual inclusion of oak leaves. This concept really brings the outside into this magnificent Tuscan venue.

The florals give a real wow factor to the tablescape. Keeping it simple, vases of oak tree branches fall over the table adorned with candles, vintage china and glassware, and scattered with rose petals. This winter wedding styling is very romantic.

Whilst there are so many details I love about this shoot, I adore the bride’s style in particular. In keeping with the surroundings and romantic vibe, she wears a gorgeous ball gown wedding dress by the fabulous Gabriella Sposa, with lace bodice, full tulle skirt and intricate beading. Her hair and make-up, kept naturally simple, features statement dark lips to complement the burgundy colour palette.

From the decadent tablescape to the bridal style, you’ll find oodles of ideas for a wedding which is timeless and sophisticated. Photographers Beatrice and Alberto of Intimate Love Stories captured this gorgeous winter wedding styling so perfectly…

The Old World

“We wanted this winter wedding shoot to enhance the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and luxurious villas of the territory. A wonderful nineteenth century villa in Lucca, a beautifully restored village, was the perfect location. The styling details treated an environment that reflects the old world with a decadent touch.

“We chose a dark red and blue colour palette for the shoot, and decorate the table with beautiful ceramics and an impressive floral centrepiece.

“And for our couple… a refined lace dress with wide tulle skirt for her and a stylish dark suit for him. Artisan jewellery completed our bride’s look. The Villa Lenka garden and fish pond were the perfect background for photos of the bride and groom.”

I love a wedding where the food almost takes centre-stage, and the food here looks magnificent. Such a feast, perfect for a cold winter’s day.

So, grab a glass of mulled wine (it’s Christmas Eve after all) and enjoy these wonderful ideas for a navy, burgundy and gold winter wedding.

Cosy Fireplaces and Nostalgic Charm

“I love a good winter wedding. The cosy romance, an adventurous couple, and the pristine landscape create a completely different vibe to summer soirées. So, when Jen from Wren Photography suggested we put together a styled shoot to inspire more winter weddings in northern Michigan, I jumped at the chance.

“It turned out the fireside lounge, cable knit blankets and rich berry tone palette on our Pinterest board were just the beginning. Jen suggested we find a couple to actually get married at the styled shoot. They would invite guests and enjoy all the goodness of fireside blankets and berry-inspired dining.

“We reached out to Mimi from Willowbrook Mill, whose venue in Northport has three cosy fireplaces and nostalgic charm off the charts.

“Holly Thomas Design sent over the most stunning invitation suite in rich burgundies, navy, and gold calligraphy. I then talked to Jen at Grandview Catering about our vision of comfort food with a gourmet twist, and mentioned our berry tone palette. She sent me a mouth-watering menu that not only took comfort food to a new level, but also entrées and winter vegetable hash that became focal points in the table decor. The artistic presentation of pistachio crusted lamb chops was perfection between the taper candles, red wine, and the protea in Rory’s glorious centrepiece.

“Watercolour brie and fig macarons served as amuse-bouche place cards, detailed with guest names in gold calligraphy. We then used linens, candles, cross back chairs and lounge furniture, flowers and snowshoes to pull the whole look together.

“Our models JP and his gorgeous girlfriend Katie added the romance to every scene we assembled, and Lakeshore diamond rings and a fur stole completed the look with a touch of glam.”

Red and Green Nordic Winter Wedding Styling

Are you feeling festive yet? With just over a week to go until the big day, I’m sure these festive red and green Nordic winter wedding styling ideas will help to get you in the mood! Last week I shared some very alternative Christmas wedding ideas in the ‘Merry Kitschmas’ shoot, but today’s shoot features festive winter styling with a traditional colour palette of red and green but with a modern, Nordic twist.

Christmas is my favourite time of year for weddings as I love the colours, sparkles and twinkling lights everywhere. If you are marrying at his time of year it is likely your venue will have Christmas decorations up, so you could work with these, but if you have a blank canvas then these Nordic winter wedding ideas are stunning.

You may think the shoot took place in Scandinavia, but actually it was right here in the UK at White Space Alresford, an old chapel in Hampshire. The styling team, led by Beth A Weddings, created a warm and cosy visual delight. A cute tulle-draped ceremony tipi, rustic sleigh and fabulous Christmas tree form the backdrop for the shoot. The tablescape is adorned with festive elements including mini Christmas trees, pine cones and stars, and for the cosy vibe the chairs are draped with blankets.

Florals form much of the styling, from the tipi arrangements to the beautiful modern floral rings, spectacular bridal bouquet and incredible floral bridal crown. I love an abundance of lush green foliage at this time of year, and together with berries and pine cones it makes for a festive delight.

Enjoy these wonderful pictures by Angela Ward Brown…

Warm and Cosy

“This opulent shoot at White Space Alresford shows that a small wedding venue doesn’t mean compromising on style. A hidden gem in the stunning town of Alresford, this old chapel has retained its beautiful historic features and large stained glass windows that cast bright natural light around the space.

“Winter weddings work perfectly at White Space for those looking for something cool and unique. It feels warm and cosy, and is an ideal venue for ceremonies and intimate celebrations.

“Angela Ward Brown impeccably captured the space and romance in our Nordic Winter shoot. The relaxed venue lent itself brilliantly to a cool bride, who looked stunning in luxurious cashmere and tulle. Rich florals and winter berries converted even the most adamant summer bride. By working with what was in season, Steph from Rabbit and the Rose reminded us that nature is wonderful even in the bleakest of winters.

“Surrounded by candlelight and under the ceremony tipi, With these Hands created the most romantic of backdrops for that first kiss.”

Weird and Wonderful 1920’s Carnival Wedding Shoot

I have something really cool for you today with this epic weird and wonderful 1920’s carnival wedding inspiration. If you are considering a carnival wedding but want a new take on the theme then check out these ideas.

There’s a real ambience about this incredible concept. Combining old carnival traditions like fortune telling and kissing booths with magnificently edgy styling details makes for a real show.

Rich, dark reds teamed with vibrant teal and gold creates an amazing, warm colour palette that would be perfect for an autumn or winter wedding. The beautiful tablescapes have been created using teal silk runners, gold candlesticks and small vases of flowers. I love the place settings with gold chargers, mismatched ornate plates, place name and cute gold animal. And what carnival would be complete without a toffee apple?

The fabulous props, from the furniture to the kissing booth, the carnival photo stand to the gramophone, make this styling so special. For a carnival wedding you want the cake to be a showstopper too, and this wedding cake is certainly that! Complete with carousel-look top tier, it really is a masterpiece!

Hazel Parsons and Jenny Wren created such a spectacle with these awesome weird and wonderful 1920’s carnival styling ideas. I just know you are going to love these pictures, captured perfectly by Grant Lampard Photography.

Quirky Props

“This eclectic 1920’s carnival shoot is a combination of pretty to weird and wonderful, and captures the grandeur of a 1920’s American Carnival with a touch of modern day glamour.

“The shoot took place at the Penventon Park Hotel in Cornwall, a Georgian mansion where old world charm meets modern luxury. The woodland surroundings inspired us for the first element of the shoot – a tipi nestled within the hotel’s grounds. Fairy lights adorned the interior of the Tipi twinkling in the dark winter light.

“With an abundance of quirky props, from the freak show set to the fortune teller’s tent and everything in between, the shoot screams fun with a strong dash of charisma.”
