A Retro DIY Wedding with Copper Accents

When a bride wears a simple yet stunning linen wedding dress with a pair of brown leather shoes, you know it’s going to be a cool wedding. With a retro vibe, relaxed feel and fabulous styling elements, Cori and Justin’s wedding is sure to inspire!

The couple kept their styling very simple and made a lot of the details themselves, and it all worked so well with their venue, Events on Main. Retro styling details include a fabulous macramé and copper pipe ceremony backdrop (that Cori made herself), peacock chairs and even a disco ball. The tablescapes have a rustic look, simply dressed with eucalyptus leaves and white tapered candles with clear candlestick holders of varying styles and heights, that they picked up from charity shops throughout the year. Little personal elements such as antlers from Cori’s grandpa’s time spent hunting make this wedding really individual.

Cori’s six bridesmaids look beautiful in mismatched dresses in muted grey and blush colours. The dresses complement each other and have similar tulle skirts, but each has a different bodice design – some plain, some with intricate beadwork. The muted grey and blush colour palette is used throughout, and looks great with the eucalyptus used for the runner, chair decor, ceremony backdrop and bouquets.

Retro Style

“Cori and Justin married on a gorgeous June day in Canton, Georgia. Their venue space, Events on Main, gave these artists a blank canvas to work with, and they brought it to life in such a beautiful way with their impeccable style.

“Most of their wedding was DIY, which they pulled off perfectly. Cori kept the vision for the day simple, with copper accents and a gorgeous linen dress designed by Elizabeth Dye. She managed to incorporate her retro style with things like the macramé backdrop she made herself, and 70’s wicker peacock chairs.

“At the end of the night Cori and Justin drove away in Justin’s dad’s 1964 convertible Rambler, the same car they took drives in when they first started dating.”

Winter Wedding Styling at Breckenridge Distillery

Any wedding that starts with ‘take a shot and take a seat’ gets my vote, and I certainly give a great big vote to this uber-cool winter styled shoot at Breckenridge Distillery, Colorado.

Created to showcase the flexibility of Breckenridge Distillery, this shoot shows what an awesome space it is for weddings. The creative team decided on a winter wedding theme, and a lot of winter weddings feature a colour palette of reds, silver and gold… but not this one! This winter styling has a vibrant colour scheme with a plethora of cool styling details.

The colour concept of muted pinks and purples with pops of blue looks fabulous, especially in the floral arrangements. Beautiful florals feature heavily, from the bridesmaid’s most astonishing floral necklace, to the fun tassel-tied bouquets and the wedding cake with sugar flowers. Even the wedding stationery has a floral theme in keeping with the styling.

Quirky Styling

There are also many quirky styling ideas, such as the Cigar and Whisky Bar, ceremony backdrop of coloured tassels with flowers above, Macramé and floral decorated chairs and quirky signs. These ideas are just part of what makes this shoot such fun, and would be perfect for a relaxed wedding.

Of course, the great thing about having your wedding in a distillery is that the main decor is already there in the form of the barrels and bar. The styling team gave a nod to the surroundings with the inclusion of the whisky bar ‘Take a Shot and Take a Seat’ sign I mentioned before.

The bride and groom’s styling matches the relaxed, cool ambience. I love the bride’s long sleeved lace top and full length pink tulle skirt, and her style complements the groom’s relaxed look of chinos and tweed waistcoat.

Everything about this winter wedding styling at Breckenridge Distillery is beautiful and fun. I’m getting a little excited about winter now after seeing the pictures of the couple in the snow at the end of the shoot. Castorina Photography and Films has captured every detail so beautifully…

Modern Foliage and Copper Wedding Styling

Foliage and copper are two of my absolute favourite wedding styling concepts, and fill me with such joy when teamed together! They are both still massive wedding trends that are showing no signs of disappearing for 2019. Led by Emily Andrew Events, the creative team for this shoot wanted to put a different spin on a foliage and copper wedding theme and show some fresh inspiration to brides. This warm, inviting, modern and romantic styling shows how to incorporate these two elements in a stylish, timeless way.

Enjoy these oh-so-elegant styling ideas, captured beautifully by Tatum Reid Photography…

Foliage Garland and Copper Buckets

“I styled two tablescapes for our sweetheart table. The first included a foliage garland of eucalyptus, sprigs of gypsophila sprayed copper and fronds of fern for texture. I then peppered this with lots of little tea lights and votives in copper and glass. Glass bottles filled with sprigs of foliage holding tall white tapered candles added a finishing touch to the garland.

“The place settings featured glass sheet menus written in copper ink, copper pipe place names and copper cutlery. Earthenware plates added an edgy tone to the table, and green napkins and ribbons around the cutlery finished each setting.

A Copper Themed Wedding at Coworth Park

Cindy and Thomas’ beautiful copper themed wedding took place at the stunning Coworth Park in Ascot. I’m sure many brides-to-be dream of a wedding venue with beautiful gardens, and Cindy and Thomas made the most of the fabulous grounds with an intimate outdoor ceremony.

As you’ll know, copper is a big wedding trend. The copper styling Cindy and Thomas created works so well with the backdrop of the venue.

They used cute copper wire letters of their initials and copper painted picture frames to style their guest book table. Their wedding cake included a copper tier, they placed a copper favour box on every other ceremony chair, and their place names were a gorgeous copper bar tied delicately to the menu card. Everything was copper… who knew you can get photo booth props in copper too? Even the inside of Cindy’s gorgeous Ted Baker wedding shoes were copper – I have serious shoe envy!

Cindy and Thomas really thought about their styling details and made sure that every little detail was just so. I hope you enjoy this magnificent wedding, captured by Masha Unwerth, and get loads of inspiration for styling your own copper themed wedding.

Two Weddings

“Thomas and I met 10 years ago when we were both working in the same hotel. I had just started and he was very persistent in getting me to go out for a date with him… I finally agreed and we have been together ever since!

“Thomas is French so we ended up having two weddings, not even a week apart. Our immediate French family travelled to the UK on the Monday for our wedding at Coworth, and then we travelled to France with my family to do it all over again on the Saturday with the rest of our French family and friends.”

A Marble, Copper and Pink Himalayan Salt Styled Wedding

If you’ve never seen or even heard of pink Himalayan salt before now then you are in for a real treat, as this awesome wedding if full of it. Erica and Kevin wowed their guests with wedding styling which included modern marble, copper and pink Himalayan salt details. As soon as I saw the beautiful pictures by Abby Grace Photography I fell in love with this styling.

I’m going to hold my hands up and say I have never seen pink Himalayan Salt before now, but quite frankly it’s incredible. It’s claimed the rose quartz-hued ancient salt crystals have great health benefits, and when made into decorative items it is something very special.

Modern Details

Erica and Kevin used beautiful pink Himalayan salt for an amazing escort card display of shot glasses, candle votives and as the plate chargers at their place settings on the top table. What a wonderful item to keep as a wedding memento.

They used marble patterns to contrast the modern rose quartz hues, including in their fabulous two tier wedding cake, table runners, invitations and menu cards. There are dazzling pops of copper throughout the styling too, with gorgeous modern cutlery, sparkling candle votives and fabulous tall structures that play host to spectacular floral displays that bring the room to life.

I adore the flowers used in this wedding. Erica’s bridal bouquet is full to the brim with roses, peonies, astilbes, dahlias, and black ball cornflowers. And it’s not often you see a bride and groom wearing matching shoes! Erica and Kevin both wore Stubbs and Wootton smoking loafers. Customised with a nod to their political views, each had their respective parties on the top!

This black tie celebration combines creativity and the most elegant Washington backdrop. Abby Grace’s pictures of Erica and Kevin’s wedding are a delight, and I hope you love them as much as I do.
