A few weeks ago we went to The National Wedding Show in London, and had front row seats for the spring 2016 catwalk show, which was, as always, incredible.
As a reader of The Wedding Community, you probably know just how excited we get when it is ‘show time’, and one of the main reasons is because of the catwalk, as we get a glimpse of what the season’s wedding fashions will be.
The wedding dresses this season really have the wow factor. There was a lot of lace and detail featuring on the dresses, with A-line and the fuller skirt making a bit of a comeback.
Our favourite dresses on this seasons catwalk at The National Wedding Show were by Alfred Angelo. Which is your favourite?
The National Wedding Show catwalk Autumn 2015 was incredible. We get so excited when we see a sneak peek of the new season bridal wear, and wow; brides-to-be are in for a real treat!
The National Wedding Show catwalk showed that there are so many beautiful wedding dresses for 2016, and a huge trend is going to be sheer lace necklines, shoulders and sleeves; and we LOVE it – it’s so feminine and ethereal.
Also on the catwalk we saw some quirkier styles; the two-piece with the bare midriff (if you dare to bare!), the short front – long back dress, and dresses with pockets.
With so many gorgeous dresses next season it might be a tough decision choosing THE dress. To help you, take a look at this article – How to Find Your Perfect Wedding Dress, by Ellie Sanderson.
So, without further ado, the stunning pictures from The National Wedding Show Catwalk Autumn 2015…
The National Wedding Show catwalk is always very exciting as it showcases the bridal wear trends for the year ahead, as well as the latest groomswear and mother of the bride outfits. Last month saw the spring National Wedding Shows take place, with thousands of brides and grooms making their way to the shows in London, Birmingham and Manchester. We’ve got the pictures from this season’s catwalk in the gallery below, and we particularly love the Candy Anthony tea length dresses – which are your favourites?
The Wedding Community is always very excited about seeing The National Wedding Show catwalk, and what the bridal wear trends are going to be for the new season. Did you see our live posts on our Facebook page during the catwalk? If you missed them follow the link.
This year we were treated to such beauty on the catwalk… what girl doesn’t love looking at wedding dresses? There was an abundance of lace and sparkle as well as colour – lots of colour; we love the red ketchup suit from Moss Bros.
Last year, we ran a competition to win an amazing wedding dress from No.9 Bridal Couture. Our lucky winner was Hannah Barnecut who got married in July this year. Hannah chose the stunning No.9 Bridal Couture dress ‘Olivia’, and we are sure you will agree she looked amazing.
What I felt when I won the competition…
When The Wedding Community told me I had won, I couldn’t believe it! I’m never that lucky, this sort of thing never happens to me, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I was not going to spend much on my wedding dress, so when I found out I had won one I was so happy and excited.
Why I chose the dress Olivia…
I looked through all the dresses in the No.9 Bridal Couture collection and Olivia stood out; I’ve never seen a dress like it and thought it was lovely. I thought it would look good on me and it was different to all the other dresses I have looked at.
How I felt when I put the dress on for the first time…
When I first put the dress on I felt amazing and couldn’t stop smiling; I knew straight away it was the dress for me. I didn’t want to take the dress off and I couldn’t believe how much it suited me.
Additions to the dress…
When I went to try the dress on, Linda from No.9 Bridal Couture suggested having a petticoat built in to the dress to make it bigger, and she also made a matching veil for me which was really long and pretty.
What I felt like when I walked down the aisle…
I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. It brought a tear to my eye, and I felt amazing. My husband also had tears in his eyes when he saw me.
Our thanks go to No.9 Bridal Couture for providing this amazing prize.
