Creative Woodland Wedding Inspiration with Bluebells

Whenever I think of spring (which is quite a lot recently, as I’m longing for some spring air) I think of the bluebell woods. I love coming across a carpet of bluebells in woodland because, for me, it epitomises spring time. If you’re planning a spring wedding and want to have incredible pictures that capture the beauty of the season, a wedding venue that has a bluebell woodland is the perfect way. Think about the picture possibilities with a backdrop of a tranquil woodland surrounded with a sea of beautiful bluebells.

Today I have a really cool, creative shoot for you which showcases some fabulous ways to style a woodland wedding, plus some very creative ways to use bluebells.

The creative team made the most of the natural woodland surrounds. They created such a visual delight with the tablescape adorned with moss, an array of delicate blue and white flowers and a super-cute moss rabbit to add another flare of spring. The place settings are very natural with a ribbon-tied napkin laid with a small delphinium flower, a sprig of fern and of course, a bluebell – simple yet stylish. The white tiered wedding cake is also adorned with the pretty white and blue flowers to complement the styling.

The location for the shoot is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding, so the team styled a beautiful ceremony set-up, complete with a stunning floral backdrop of large LOVE letters and a large willow circle. There is also a rustic arch with complementing floral arrangement. These ethereal styling ideas all work so beautifully against the bluebell woodland setting, giving a romantic bohemian vibe to the concept.

If you fancy a woodland wedding but are looking for more of a rock chick vibe, you will love the look the styling team created for the second bride in the shoot. These alternative wedding ideas include neon, leather jackets, and even an incredible living cape made from the forest fern and bluebells; totally unique!

Styled by Nadia Di Tullio, the fabulous HBA Photography has captured these woodland wedding ideas so perfectly, and I am delighted to share them with you. Enjoy!

Bluebell Woods

“The newly formed Field and Forest Weddings, run by Charlotte and Dave Garner, is a stunning location hosting woodland weddings, natural ceremonies and other events. They invited us to the beautiful village of Yoxall, in the Staffordshire countryside, to have a nosey round the stunning bluebell woods at this new wedding venue.

“Have you ever seen a sea of bluebells? It was stunning and the perfect place for some dreamy wedding photos. We are lucky to know some very talented and lovely people within our industry, and they were all happy to contribute to our ideas.”

Boho bride in field of lavender

Lavender Boho Luxe Wedding Inspiration

This dreamy fairytale of a styled wedding shoot did not turn out as originally planned! At first the team filled their mood board with dark and brooding influences and rich shades of oxblood and cherry. As you can see, the end result was a feminine and romantic boho luxe wedding wonderland of lavender, blush and metallics.

The styled shoot embodies a sense of enchantment that captivates you with its luxe bohemian appeal married with a strong lavender palette – a true yet unpredictable match made in heaven. The team wanted to give the lavender colour palette a modern, chic and elegant appeal, which I think they achieved!

The contemporary touches of ivory and metallics against the pastel lavender shade, set amongst an enchanting lavender field, created just the right balance.

Adorn Invitations told us how they put together these amazing lavender boho luxe wedding ideas, which Sephory Photography captured so perfectly…

Luxury and Glamour

“Though the vibe and theme for the day was quite relaxed, we wanted to entice our ‘guests’ with luxury and glamour. We created several stationery styles for the shoot including lavish features like intricate laser cut panelling and gilded foiling. Our head digital designer used a relaxed scripted font for that boho-chic element.

“We wrapped gold kitchenware tightly with satin ribbon and scripted name holders for the boho luxe wedding look. However, our showstopper was definitely our embellished cow skull centrepiece!”

Beautiful and Delicious

“We had the most delectable spread of sweet treats for our outdoor reception. A favourite from the day were the breathtaking macarons in shades of lilac and lavender, garnished with gold flakes and sprigs of lavender. Summery berry tarts complemented the colours in the floral arrangements, and the purple toned drinks were as beautiful as they were delicious.”

Two brides in woodland at The Green Cornwall

A Fun and Romantic Wedding at The Green Cornwall

Two beautiful ladies, two stunning wedding dresses, a handfasting ceremony, dream-catchers, tacos and two brides in the band… are you ready for this awesome wedding?

Have you ever been to a wedding where the couple got on stage and played with the band? That’s exactly what the beautiful Sera and Francesca did. Not because they had had too many glasses of bubbly, but because it was ‘their’ band! You’ll have to wait to see the pictures at the end of the feature but they totally rocked it… Sera playing the bass guitar and Francesca on the drums. So cool!

Sera and Francesca had a beautiful ceremony in the wedding barn at The Green Cornwall, followed by an intimate handfasting ceremony in the garden with friends and family taking part.

The styling details of this wedding are awesome. Sera and Francesca wanted wild and quirky flowers to complement their styling, and the flowers are all really bright and fun. A lot of the details were homemade giving a real personal touch.

I have loved looking at the pictures of this amazing wedding and smiling to myself as I look at how much fun everyone is having. That was a big thing for Sera and Francesca – to make their wedding all about their friends and family enjoying themselves and having fun.

I hope you smile too whilst you enjoy these fabulous wedding pictures by Matt Pereira Photography.

The Proposal

“We’ve been working together for many years, performing together in our band, Unsung Lilly. What started off as a working relationship blossomed into friendship, and then more!

“We had talked about getting married before – we both had a feeling after only a few weeks of being together we would get married one day. We’d always discussed it as being ‘Francesca’s job’ to propose, but I (Sera) started to think about proposing.

“There were many moments when it almost happened but things would get in the way. One time after we’d just moved over to LA we hiked to the top of this beautiful canyon. We sat looking at the view and I knew, now is the moment… I was just about to say it – I even started filming secretly on my phone so we could savour it forever – and Francesca said “This place is so beautiful. It would be a great place to get engaged, wouldn’t it?”. I lost my nerve!

“Things like that happened a few times, but eventually it happened one night, on our anniversary. We had this apartment that looked out across LA, and I proposed on our balcony as we were looking out at the beautiful lights of the city. She said yes!”

Two boho brides, one resting chin on other's shoulder

Black Rocks and Ivory Bones Alternative Wedding Inspiration

Today’s wedding inspiration comes from the volcanic rock fields of Utah, and is quite simply, amazing! The pictures of this incredible alternative wedding inspiration shoot by Miesh Photography blew us away.

With geometric and geological inspiration playing a big part in wedding styling right now, this shoot fits perfectly with this growing trend. It’s edgy, bold, alternative and definitely cool and quirky!

Two boho brides, one resting chin on other's shoulder

We love the mix of the edgy landscape and modern elements used to create such amazing styling. There is a real bohemian feel to the bridal styling with the stunning oversized, loose bouquets with draping ribbons, cool hair accessories, twig crowns, boho dresses and raw crystal jewellery.

The moody setting of the volcanic rocks really set the scene for this shoot. The wedding pyramid rock-look cakes, antique platters for place settings, rugged wedding stationery and bone details all bring this black rocks and ivory bones alternative wedding inspiration together.

If you are searching for inspiration for an alternative wedding then this shoot will rock (pardon the pun) your world!

Harsh Landscape

“We wanted to show how much beauty this seemingly dark and desolate landscape offers.

“Playing off the juxtaposition of the feminine elegance and harsh landscape, we incorporated a lot of geometric or modern items, as well as overly feminine antique dresses and accents.

“This part of the earth is seemingly season-less, which can make it feel timeless and non-changing.”

An Autumn Boho Wedding Shoot in Spain

Autumn weddings are the perfect opportunity to utilise nature and its glorious offerings. We love the rustic, natural autumn elements that the very talented creative team have used to style this shoot. Berries, apples, pumpkins, nuts, figs, leaves, feathers, foliage – the lot! They have created the most wonderful visual delight; the perfect romantic styling for a autumn boho wedding or elopement.

Wedding’s Art really capture the magic of this inspirational shoot and you are going to love these pictures. You should also watch the Wedding’s Art film at the bottom with even more autumn wedding ideas.

The Inspiration

“Bohemian is so hot right now, so we thought it would be interesting to combine this style in a different way, with different colours. So, why not combine boho with the autumn season and add some magic to it?

“We started to investigate beautiful locations in Spain and asked different vendors to collaborate. The location had to be a forest with lots of nature, such as big trees and green plants. This would add a warm, mysterious and magic touch to the styled shoot. The ideal place was Mas Terrats in Pontós, approximately 1.5 hour from Barcelona, at the Costa Brava.

“Mas Terrats is a refurbished old Catalan country house from the 16th century. It’s a spectacular venue of almost 100 hectares where they organize weddings and events.

“There are many unique places in the garden. Between the olive trees, the swing hanging in a big tree, the woods, the natural pool with a little cave and an old fountain. There are many special hidden corners, which are like a fairytale!

“The main colours we wanted to use were garnet red, mustard, and grape purple, which we called ‘fig purple’ because of the season.”

The Story to Tell

“When the sun comes up, Valeria the bride has a relaxed walk between the olive trees of Mas Terrats. She’s dressed in a casual boho style that fitted with the autumn season. Valeria takes in some fresh air, enjoying the beautiful nature and listening to the sound of the birds.”

A Hidden Place

“Later, Valeria is by an old, unused fountain in the middle of the forest. Plants have now grown around it, and the fountain is in a hidden place never exhibited before. Valeria is wearing a beautiful pearl grey Celia Vela wedding dress with a long tulle skirt and an embroidered top.
