Serene Wedding Inspiration at Clissold House

Natural elegance, creative florals and a timeless London backdrop inspired today’s magnificent styled shoot. Beautiful flowers, a soft colour palette and a chic rustic vibe – all of my favourite things rolled into one. Add fabulous creative design and an 18th century mansion venue and I’m sold!

To create this serene wedding inspiration, Fleur and Fig added such alluring elements and attention to detail. The table design is simply splendid. Laid upon the fabulous wooden table, each place setting is simple yet elegant with white china, rustic yet modern menu cards, a soft grey napkin and rustic wooden handled cutlery. An abundance of taper candles in a mix of pink, purple and white help to create a romantic look.

I am a huge flower lover, and when I saw the amazing florals created for this shoot I did swoon rather a lot, and you’ll see why!

Everything about this shoot is charmingly beautiful, including the simple yet elegant white, two tier wedding cake with pretty lace detail. Oh and wait until you see the sweet treats… they are some of the cutest delights I have seen!

I am in awe of the bridal styling too. The bride’s wedding dress, ‘Charlotte’ by Vicky Rowe, is one of my favourite dresses of the season. The high neck, teardrop open back and full skirt with lace like beading detail and smoky Swarovski crystals create such a head-turning wedding dress. It complements a city wedding perfectly, yet stays in keeping with the magnificent backdrop of Clissold House.

This styled wedding shoot is romance personified – I could go on all day about the details! So, without further ado, enjoy these incredible pictures, captured by Amanda Karen Photography…

Timeless Elegance

“Clissold House in vibrant Hackney, London provided the elegant backdrop for this editorial shoot. The autumnal weather and wooden interiors inspired the transitional colour palette of forest green contrasted with soft blush and deep berry tones and delicate touches of gold. Fleur and Fig based their design around timeless elegance with a slight nod to rustic chic.

This autumn elopement inspiration shoot at 99 Sudbury in Toronto is so cute. A rich colour palette of burgundy, brown and gold sets the tone for cosy, romantic, autumn wedding ideas.

Some wonderful ‘before’ pictures show the couple cuddling up in bed, having fun and getting ready together, and this really adds to the intimacy of the shoot – exactly what an elopement is all about.

The industrial setting of 99 Sudbury is the perfect space for the multi-layered textures that bring this shoot to life, with suede, velvet and fur all helping create a romantic, cosy vibe. Magnificent floral displays complete the styling, including a large ceremony display, pretty table arrangements, and fabulous large suspended florals over the dining table.

Cosy, Romantic Wedding Styling with Antique Tones

These cosy, romantic wedding styling ideas show that sometimes very simple styling is all it takes to create real beauty.

Opulent, rich fabrics like grey velveteen linens mix beautifully with the gorgeous muted tones of the floral design. I love the pink, blush and grey with a hint of dark burgundy in the floral arrangements, and the gold table cutlery. This ethereal, romantic styling would look fabulous for weddings in any season, but particularly autumn or cosy winter weddings.

A four tier wedding cake, with a beautiful grey marbled look and finished with delicate flowers, complements the stationery beautifully.

The bride wears the most beautiful blush wedding dress that’s elegant, floaty, and has such an air of romance.

If you are looking for a modern approach to wedding styling, you’ll love these simple, elegant and very romantic ideas. So, feast your eyes on these wonderful pictures by Judy Pack…

Modern Table Setting

“We designed this shoot to be cosy, a bit modern, fresh and very romantic. Grey velveteen linens gave a cosy winter base, and the antique gold container of the beautiful flowers in rich, muted, antique tones added a romantic touch. Matte plates and matte gold flatware kept the table setting modern.

“A unique salad, “Winter Table”, featuring a Poached Pear and Blue Cheese Marble on Black Pepper Sable and White Balsamic Vinaigrette was created as a fun riff on a typical plate of greens. This perfect first course also looked perfect with the décor!” – Laura Remmert Events

Winter is such a fabulous season, perfect for some magical romance, and the styling of this shoot shows how incredible a winter wedding can be. The muted, earthy colours of blush, burgundy, green and a pop of yellow create an elegant warmth. I am so in love with the floral displays; orchids, calla lilies, roses, chrysanthemums and an abundance of foliage feature heavily. The table arrangements look so romantic in the ornate gold vases, together with matching gold candlestick holders, and wait until you see the most incredible suspended floral display and matching bridal bouquet – they really are quite spectacular. The floral theme is also carried through to the beautiful wedding stationery.

Although the floral arrangements make a real statement, the styling is simple, elegant and understated. The styling really complements the bride’s style too. She wears a stunning lace top wedding dress that is every winter bride’s dream!

Romance and Classic Elegance

“Inspired by French wine country, this wedding shoot was all about romance and classic elegance. With the magnificent Franschhoek valley, Groot Drakenstein Mountains and spectacular vineyards as our backdrop, we couldn’t ask for more beauty. Lynx Wine Farm’s horse stables served as the perfect location to showcase the shoot’s stylish charm, whilst Jack and Jane Photography captured all the earthy colours wonderfully.”

Dreamy Flower Arrangements

“With winter in mind, I wanted to inspire brides with romantic, dreamy flower arrangements using earthy and deep, moody colours. I let the flowers do what they wanted, and the end result was a messy and loosely arranged, yet structured, composition. I used brown cymbidiums, red and soft pink roses, white roses for contrast and foraged greenery and autumn leaves.

“When it came to the installation, I wanted to create a big opulent appearance. I added anthuriums, tulips and amaranthus for a hint of colour alongside the roses.”

An Enchanting, Tolkien-Inspired Wedding

When you have a real passion for something, why not embrace it and use it as the inspiration for your wedding styling? That’s exactly what Chandré and Mark did for their incredible Tolkien-inspired wedding.

I love how the couple created such enchanting wedding styling based around Tolkien’s books. A charming, eclectic mix of literature-inspired details complemented by the most spectacular flowers.

The dark red and pink flowers work tremendously well with the dark evergreen foliage, creating a wonderful depth. These styling colours are warm and luxurious, and offer such intrigue to the concept.

Chandré’s floral crown of large pink and burgundy roses, framed with foliage, is so pretty, and complements her effortlessly beautiful bridal style. Talking of bridal style, wait until you see her shoes…*swoon!*

If you love Tolkien’s work too then you will really appreciate the effort this loved-up couple went to to use these elements in their wedding styling. The details were perfect for the wonderful rustic backdrop The Simondium Country Lodge offered – a perfect setting for them to create their own love story.

Photographer Michelle Du Toit captured Mark and Chandré’s amazing Tolkien-inspired wedding beautifully, and I am delighted to share their spectacular day with you…

Fairytale Character

“Our wedding was inspired by the beautiful settings and architecture of Rivendell, the Elven city envisioned in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’ – what nerds! We both love the Tolkien stories and wanted to bring aspects from the books and films to our wedding.

“Although initially daunting, finding a venue which encapsulated the ethereal feel we were looking for turned out to be a lot easier than we thought. By chance we came across The Simondium Country Lodge, and were immediately taken by the beautiful gardens, charming chapel and exquisite reception hall. The few resident peacocks also added to the fairytale character of the venue.”
