New 2014 Olivier Laudus Bridal Accessories Collection Shoot

Today we are delighted to be featuring the stunning new 2014 bridal jewellery collection from The Wedding Community’s very own Wedding Jewellery and Accessories Advice experts Olivier Laudus.

Following the huge successes of The Great Gatsby and Downton Abbey, the ‘Great Glamour Collection’ is all about evoking Hollywood glamour and the elegance of bygone eras, and includes exquisite pieces which will be popular with vintage and contemporary brides alike.

Below are some pictures from the fabulous collection shoot, as well as some of our favourite pieces from the new 2014 collection, photographed by Fiona Kelly Photography.

Sangeeta Laudus, co-founder of Olivier Laudus, told us about the new 2014 collection…

“The Great Glamour Collection was put together with the stylish bride in mind. Our philosophy has always been less is more with the emphasis on design and quality, so that is what was at the forefront of our minds when Olivier and I were picking pieces for our new season collection.

“With the continued love of vintage and the huge successes of the Great Gatsby and Downton Abbey, we wanted to offer pieces which gave a subtle nod to the twenties but were still bang up to date and would work for contemporary brides. A forehead band like the Bohemia just oozes glamour with its mix of Swarovski pearls and crystals, and the Melody tiara has a distinct regal air without being overly fussy.

A Confetti Inspired Styled Wedding Shoot

Bride sitting next to coloured paper pom poms

We adore today’s bridal shoot as it is so vibrant and whimsical. Bea and Jude of EFC Photography created this shoot based around a theme of confetti, and used amazing handmade flowers and paper pom poms, confetti chains, streamers and LOVE signs for styling. The Coast dresses the models are wearing are to die for, especially the blue evening dress at the end.

What do you think?

“The idea came about after we worked with Alicia at a Coast display in their House of Fraser, Oxford Street concession. Coast had been promoting their wedding dresses that day and we thought we could put something together for a small shoot to round things off. Our first choice of venue cancelled at the last minute, so Charlotte found Hendall who were the perfect hosts, even when we set the fire alarm off while steaming the dresses!

“We’d decided on a theme of confetti as we thought it would go nicely with the dresses, and we aimed for muted, autumnal shades. When discussing the concept with a florist she recommended paper poms instead of flowers, which is where we found Juliet, who in turn recommended Scene Setters and their gorgeous signage. We weren’t concentrating on flowers so made a bouquet ourselves and brought loose flowers for accessories.

“All the contributors were very generous with their time and expertise; we are very grateful.”

A Great Gatsby Styled Bridal Shoot

Merry Christmas and congratulations to everyone who got engaged yesterday!

The Great Gastby film has inspired many weddings this year and we are sure it will be a huge influence for 2014 weddings too.

Today’s feature is a beautiful Great Gatsby styled bridal shoot that is full of glamour and sophistication. We adore the elegant dresses, dramatic make-up and intricate detailing of this shoot.

Susie Bloice told us how the shoot came together…

“The team who organised the shoot had decided to take inspiration from the film The Great Gatsby, as it is going to be a big inspiration for 2014 brides. It brings glamour and sophistication back from the real Hollywood glam / flapper dress eras, but now with a modern take; the vintage style is timeless and we wanted to represent this.

“The only way to dress for this kind of style is to go for it; there is never too much bling, either in the dresses or the hair, make-up is statement and gloves and shrugs add the sophistication to pull the outfit together. Altogether the results speak for themselves.

“We decided that we would need a statement location, dresses, accessories and, of course, hair and make-up.

“The location was the beautiful Inchyra House; 18th century grandeur, all grace and charm with an old-fashioned French feel.

A Deer Park Winter Wedding Shoot

Bride and groom at wedding outside in the snow

It’s not often we get to share a wedding shoot with reindeer… so we’re rather excited about today’s feature. As it’s nearly Christmas we wanted to bring you something festive, and this should be just the ticket. We are in love with this winter bridal shoot which took place at The Deer Park Country House Hotel, not only for the reindeer, but the abundance of Christmas cheer that is in the details. Grab yourself a cup of coffee (or mulled wine if you prefer, we won’t tell anyone) and take a look at this beautifully styled winter wedding shoot, photographed by Firetop Photography…

“The aim of this styled shoot was to portray The Deer Park Hotel as a wedding venue for both winter and Christmas weddings. The inside table settings are more overtly Christmas themed and the outdoor shots demonstrate how a winter wedding could look at the venue’s beautiful grounds; a pathway lit with tea lights leading to The Summerhouse which is licensed for weddings, cosy hot water bottles and blankets for your guests, and a glass of mulled wine for the bride and groom as they pose for their photographs. The accent colour of deep red is picked up in the bouquet, the roses in the brides hair and her groom’s burgundy velvet jacket. The winter scene is completed by Dancer and Prancer who live at a local farm three miles away from the hotel.”

A Floral Brides Styled Shoot

The cold weather has started, so today we want to warm your hearts and bring back memories of summer with this beautiful styled shoot ‘Floral Brides’, photographed by Griffin Photography.

Featuring dresses from the fabulous Annalise Harvey bridal collection, the shoot took place in a beautiful flower meadow in the sunshine, the perfect spot to capture the romance of the loved up couple who took part in the shoot.

“During the summer I was commissioned by the very talented bridal designer Annalise Harvey to create a bridal fashion shoot with some of her collection.

“The location was breathtaking, situated in Fowey in a flower meadow that was the grounds of The Garden Gate Flower Company. The Garden Gate team worked alongside us to create all of the floral headpieces and the bouquets, as well as the floral arrangements. I just adored the actual meadow, it was such a dream to be able to shoot in such a beautiful place and for the weather to be so wonderful.

“Annalise and I chose the models; we wanted them each to look different, and we also thought it would be a good idea to create a shoot using an actual loved up couple, so we centred the shoot around Emily and Stuart.

“As the photographer I planned each of the shots that I wanted with each of the models. One of the shots was based around a mad, fun party scene – I wanted Stuart to be stood still while the girls were having fun; it worked out well I thought. I also wanted to focus on the male holding the bouquet, as you do not often see this in fashion shoots. Each of the models had their own group of images to model and they showed the dresses off beautifully.

“I was very lucky to have such a great team of people to work with on the shoot, and the location made my job easy, being so beautiful that time of year!”
