Last weekend saw the first of the autumn 2014 National Wedding Shows, and we went along to the London show to check out what’s new for this season’s weddings. So, today our wedding inspiration mood board brings you some of our favourite finds.
Did you see our Vintage Carnival Themed real wedding last week? We loved it so much that we wanted to create a wedding inspiration mod board based around this wedding; a carnival theme is a great way to inject some fun into your wedding day. We love the idea of sweet treat stalls with doughnut stacks and popcorn baskets, and fairground games such as hook the duck, with retro prizes for your guests.
Two of The Wedding Community’s most popular wedding inspiration mood boards have been Lavender Wedding Ideas and our Lace Wedding Theme, so we thought we’d mix them up and create a gorgeous new mood board ‘Lavender and Lace Wedding Styling’. We adore these styling ideas; they are so pretty and feminine, and would work well for a vintage style wedding or a more modern affair.
What do you think? Do you love this as much as we do?
As selfies are still a big craze, we’re sharing our ideas for a selfie themed wedding.
As you probably have loads of pictures of yourself and your partner together, why not use these for your wedding styling. How about a picture of you both on your wedding invitations, pictures on your wedding tables of you in various locations you have been to, a bunting time-line of pictures of you since you have been together, like a journey of your relationship, or pictures of you both growing up for your guest to see. Our favourite idea is using Polaroid pictures as your place cards and getting your guests to take their own wedding selfie for you to keep.
The selfie has been a huge part of fundraising this year. The trend of the ‘No Make-Up Selfie’ raised £8million for Cancer Research back in March, while the more recent ‘Thumbs Up for Stephen’ campaign raised more than £4million for the Teen Cancer Trust.
Why not take a ‘Wedding Selfie’ on your wedding day and help raise money for The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation. The inspirational Naomi from The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation has recently launched the brilliant idea of the Wedding Selfie, where you take your picture, post it to your social media channels using hashtag #wedwishselfie, and donate £2 by texting ‘WISH09 £2′ to 70070.
So for all you lovely selfie couples, here are some great ideas for creating a selfie themed wedding.

Bunting has been a popular decoration for weddings for a while now so is really easy to acquire, or if you are crafty you can make it yourself. Whether you are having a garden party, vintage themed or even a country affair, bunting and love birds will go perfectly. We love this design and have chosen elements such as cute little love birds, string flowers and jam jar candle holders to go with it.
This week our wedding mood board is to give you wedding styling ideas based around our Summer Butterflies wedding website template. We have used shades of purple for the colour scheme, but our beautiful butterfly website designs comes in a choice of 15 colours so you can customise these styling ideas to match your own wedding colours.
We love the pale pinks and blues in this design, a colour palette which is perfect for a spring or summer wedding. Simple shabby chic elements, such as shabby chic rose designs on bunting or little cupcakes, will co-ordinate really well with this wedding website template.
