Groomsmen Bow Ties

We recently featured a really cool idea for a ‘Bow Tie Bar’ as one of our Lunchtime Treats on The Wedding Community’s Facebook page. If you didn’t see it it’s picture one on this wedding mood board. Basically it’s so any male (or female) guests who wish to don a bow tie for your wedding can choose one from the bow tie bar.

This made us think about how cool it is when grooms and groomsmen wear bow ties. Whether this is with a jacket for a formal look, or informal with braces or a waistcoat, it will look totally amazing!

March officially marks the start of spring, so today we are sharing some of our favourite floral finds for spring weddings. We love the idea of using floral prints for your wedding chairs and tables, bouquets and arrangements of gorgeous spring flowers, and mismatched floral bridesmaid dresses. Spring flowers don’t have to be all about daffodils; how about grape hyacinths, small narcissus tête á tête and early tulips.

We love the elegance and sophistication of porcelain, especially blue and white bone china; think of the famous ‘Willow pattern’ with the intricate designs. Using porcelain as the inspiration for wedding styling should of course incorporate the china itself; how about having each place setting laid with these plates and tea cups. There are many others details that you can use, such as porcelain themed bunting, mismatched tableware to add a little casual flair, blue and white vases, and even sweet treats with patterned designs.

Here are some of our favourite ideas for blue and white porcelain wedding styling.

If you are not a fan of gold then rose gold might just be the wedding colour you are looking for. Rose gold is sophisticated and contemporary, works well with other colours, and looks amazing on wedding cakes, clothing and centrepieces.

If you are looking for a little glam for your wedding, rose gold works really well in metallic shades as well as sequins and glitter. You could incorporate rose gold into your wedding table styling with a sparkly table cover or runner, painted vases and candlesticks. For bridal styling, rose gold jewellery is exquisite and complements any skin tone.

A hot new trend for 2015 wedding cakes is the chalkboard wedding cake. We are totally in love with them and they can be so unique and personal to you and your styling. Think how cool your wedding cake will look if you have your own personal details scribed onto it; this could be your names and your wedding date, a little love poem or simply what you love about each other. Depending on your wedding styling you may choose to have a tiered wedding cake all as a chalkboard, or a beautiful cake with one chalkboard tier; the choices are endless!
