A Spanish Themed Wedding Shoot at the Eden Project

Bride at the Eden Project

If you have ever been to the Eden Project you’ll know what an amazing place it is, but did you know you can get married there? What an amazing venue for a wedding!

Today’s styled wedding shoot is set in the Mediterranean biome at the Eden project and has a Spanish theme. With gorgeous tones of orange and blue, an incredible wedding cake inspired by Antonio Gaudi, and pretty lace fan details, Jenny Wren and Hazel Parsons have styled a really beautiful wedding shoot for you to feast your eyes on…

“This Spanish themed wedding shoot was held in the iconic Eden Project, and was a lot of fun to style! The surroundings of the Mediterranean biome gave me lots of inspiration and I knew big bold colours would be key to this look. The bright bursts of colour from the exotic flowers and rich green of the plantation were a stunning backdrop.

“The chunky wooden tables were dressed with delicate lace cloths, which meant some of the natural wood was left exposed. I then introduced the colour palette of cobalt blue and fiery orange, with the beautiful blue wine glasses giving a pop of colour and working well as a contrast to the bright orange fan wedding favours.

“Bright blue napkins carried the colour theme through and created a base for the pretty little name place cards. These, along with the menu cards, had an intricate Spanish fan on the edge with an orange flower, which played on the Spanish wedding theme and really opened my eyes to how stationery can play a large part in styling.

“The cake was a striking work of art and a true taste of Spain. Inspired by Antonio Gaudi, it tailored together recognizable features of five of his most famous Barcelona projects.

“I wanted our models’ hairstyles to be slick back buns to create a typical Spanish look, and they were finished with hair flowers for the bridesmaid and a floral bun crown for our bride. For make-up, dramatic eyes with ruby red lips helped create the Spanish look.

“As Eden’s science team have to check each and every flower that comes into the biome as they run the risk of them pollinating with their own species, I had to get creative when thinking of bouquets. We used three stunning handmade bouquets made entirely from paper, which tied in perfectly with the colour scheme.

“The bride’s dress was gorgeous, with details and embellishment which sparkled in the sunlight, and a ruffled skirt which gave it a real Spanish kick, and the blue bridesmaid dresses looked great as a contrast.”
