Moss Flower Baskets

When you are planning your wedding flowers, it is often difficult to decide what to give the smaller members of your bridal party – young bridesmaids and flower girls. Do you give them small bouquets, a single flower, a pomander?

We were contacted by Zoe from The Flower Company who has been creating these amazing flower girl baskets from moss.

These are really beautiful little baskets and perfect for the younger girls. Not only does it give them something pretty to hold, they are also superb baskets for carrying confetti or petals in if you are asking them to scatter petals whilst walking down the aisle.

Each basket is handmade to order and created from a wire base so they can be made to any size and shape specified by the bride. The framework is wired together ensuring all wire edges are covered to avoid any sharp edges that may cause damage to dress fabrics or small people! Once the frame is made, it is then covered in moss.

The dried moss is available in several natural shades as well as a variety of colours, so baskets can be coordinated to wedding colour schemes or left natural.

Ribbons and ribbon roses add to the decoration and can contrast or coordinate with colour schemes. Fresh flowers can be wired in on the day to add an extra wow factor, and each basket is filled with fresh (or preserved) rose petals according to the bride’s specification.

To add an extra detail, baskets can be filled with fresh flowers to coordinate with other bridal attendants.
These handmade baskets are made to order and prices start from £30 each.

If you are looking for something extra special for the youngsters in your bridal party these are a fantastic idea.
