Interview With: Tania Duff
Company Name: Sweetcrafts
Website: www.sweetcrafts.co.uk
Location / Coverage: United Kingdom and some countries in Europe
What is Sweetcrafts?
A mixture of sweets and crafts. For weddings our product is the “Bem-casado”, a delicious sweet handmade individually as a delicate craft. Two halves united by a soft cream that will keep them together…forever.

What made you launch Sweetcrafts and how long has the business been going?
I first had the idea of starting this business when I made one of the most traditional Brazilian sweets for my own wedding in 2008 and everybody really enjoyed them. I launched the business last year after creating my website and participating at my first Show. I was so happy; my sweets were a real success!
Do you cover the whole of the UK?
We are based in Hampshire but we’ve always been able to deliver to London and the surrounding areas. Sometimes we post to Scotland and some countries in Europe.
Do you make the favours yourself?
Yes, I find it really enjoyable. I make them from an old recipe, still using the same method, seeking the “perfect match” for each part of the sweet as my grandmother used to do.
What makes Bem-casados so different from other wedding favours?
Bem-casado is soft, light and moist, with a crisp coating. It melts-in-the-mouth! Translated as “perfect match”, it symbolises the sweet union, sealed with love and mutual respect. According to the legend, it can spread the same happiness among the families and friends that share the special day with the newlyweds. It has magical powers…
How much are your Bem-casados?
I prefer drawing up personalised quotations. It is possible to estimate via the website, but this will always depend on the type of decoration and the service. We also give special discounts on larger quantities, as well as on orders placed in advance.
How does someone order your products?
By e-mail (sweetcrafts.tania@gmail.com) or telephone (07806 994942). Just let me know the details and we will ensure the perfect final result.

How are your favours packaged and delivered?
The website has many ideas, but I usually create personalized options based on each party decoration, colours and style. For 50 or more units of Bem-casados we can deliver free of charge to any venue in the Southampton area, apart from Sundays and public holidays. For other areas, I send by Special Next Day Delivery with the Royal Mail.
What’s the best thing about the job?
I love working with something typical of my beautiful country, and it’s very nice when I receive testimonials from the newlyweds telling me about the success of my “Bem-casados” at their party.

Great post and the sweets look lovely. It’s really nice to see alternatives to the normal favours at weddings. As wedding Photographers we photograph all kinds of favours and these are well above average. Thanks Keith. Imagine That Studios.
I have been lucky enough to sample one of these delicious favours and they are truly scrumptious! They look fabulous grouped together in all their colourful glory and the attention to detail is perfect. A lovely product from a lovely lady…..
